Let's be honest... everyone needs some good ole' chocolate in their lives every now and then. Here's a great alternative to the over priced and unhealthy store bought ice cream / allergy free alternative (for me, lactose intolerant). This recipe gets the job done in a quick and delicious manner. All you need are a few ingredients and a blender!
The best frozen banana based recipes come from very ripe, almost browning, bananas that are put in the freezer over night. This stays true for this recipe. The riper the banana, the more sugary and sweet your dessert/ smoothie will taste.
Take your ingredients and put them in your blender or food processor and let blend until you have the consistency of ice cream (about 2-3 minutes). If your processor/blender is having trouble you may add a little extra almond milk.
Use a spatula to scoop your banana based ice cream ("nice" cream) into a bowl & serve immediately. Feel free to top with Healthy Homemade Granola or extra carob chips!
