This Spiked Peppermint Hazelnut Hot Cocoa recipe was created at the end of a long day of sledding in Central Park during the Jonas Blizzard of 2016. We had been out in the snow (blizzard) all day and we were ready to be warm again. We invited a few friends over to warm up at our apartment with some cocktails and snacks, when one of our friends requested something we'd never made before... a warm cocktail. We immediately knew the perfect post-snowday-mix. What does everyone want after being out in the cold? Hot cocoa! So, we created the perfect childhood drink... for adults! Enter, Spiked Peppermint Hazelnut Hot Cocoa, here to warm your soul and add a little spirit to your snow day! Also perfect for ski trips -- we're totally bringing this recipe along!
Pre-heat your water on the stove until boiling. Take off and let cool for about 1 minute.
Take your 2 tbsp. of hot cocoa mix and put it into your mug. Add your hot water (about 8 oz.)
Soooo steamy and warm, mmmmmm!
Stir for about 1 minute to make sure there are not clumps in your beverage. Now, time to add your spirits.
Take your whiskey and creamer and add it to your hot cocoa blend. Mix thoroughly to combine your ingredients into one seamless beverage.
Now, sprinkle a little cocoa on top and serve with some sweets! I bet you're feeling warm and cozy already!
